Ankle/Leg lace: A hold in which a wrestler traps his opponents by the ankles with his arms and exposes his back to the mat
Arm Throw: A move in which a wrestler throws his opponent over his shoulder by holding the opponent's arm
Belly-to-back souplex: A hold where a wrestler throws his opponent in a wide arc of movement while holding the opponent from behind
Body lock: A hold in which a wrestler locks arms around the body of his opponent before taking him to the mat
Body throw: A move in which a wrestler locks arms around the body of his opponent and throws him to the mat
Bridge: The arched position a wrestler adopts to avoid his back touching the mat
Contestants must wear wrestling shoes providing firm support for the ankles. The use of shoes with heels or nailed soles, shoes with buckles or any metallic part, is prohibited
The three-day Residential Summer Wrestling Camp event for
Hats Off to The Knockagh Raiders Wrestling Club, who; in conjunction with The Northern Ireland Olympic Wrestling Association (NIOWA) organised, what is fast becoming an extremely popular event. The turnout was exceptional with enthusiastic varied calibre wrestlers from
Rigorous coaching of wrestling techniques, nutrition workshops, and mental focus was the agenda, however, it was not all work and no play; games incorporated into the regime focused on wrestling techniques which made learning, fun for all.
The massive amount of support for the Wrestling Camp was remarkable, not only from the Wrestlers who attended, but from the voluntary members of the NIOWA and Knockagh Raiders Wrestling Club, Larne Panthers Wrestling Club and The Waterside Sharks Takedown Club, who contributed their time and unrelenting energy to make the event an unrivalled success.

Bridge out: A move used to escape an opponent by rolling from a bridge onto the stomach.
Double-leg attack: A move in which a wrestler takes down his opponent by holding the opponent's legs with his arm and tackling him.
Grand amplitude: A throw in which an opponent's centre of gravity is higher than a wrestler who is trying to throw him.
Grapevine: A move in which a wrestler uses his legs to turn his opponent; also called the cross-body ride.
Gut wrench: A move where a wrestler rolls his opponent across him on his back while bridging.
Par Terre: On the mat, as in the "Par Terre" position, the starting position in which one wrestler has his hands and knees on the mat and the other wrestler is kneeling beside him with two hands on his back; also called the referee's position.
Pin: Forcing an opponent's shoulders to the mat for a touch to halt and win the bout.
Single-leg attack: A move where a wrestler takes down his opponent by lifting the opponent's leg with the arms
Shoes with laces must be wrapped with sticky tape so that they do not come undone during the match
